Spark Your Curiosity Through Symposiums
For three weeks each year, HCIS students step away from their regular academic curriculum to immerse themselves in hands-on experiential learning. Symposiums are a fun opportunity to try something new or explore a topic of interest more deeply. Students can choose from a variety of topics, which range from cooking classes and square dancing to sailing, hiking and ice fishing. Curious about something? Symposium offerings change yearly based on student suggestions and interest. Their impact often runs deep: many HCIS alumni cite symposiums as the spark for lifelong interests and academic pursuits beyond graduation. Make An Impact Through Service Learning
Want to help your community? HCIS service learning projects partner with local nonprofits and community service organizations to make a difference. From building homes through Habitat for Humanity to preparing meals for Loaves and Fishes or helping out at local senior centers, service learning projects often transform our students as much as the causes they support. For students who would like to continue making an impact, HCIS’ ACT Action Club Team takes action on environmental issues like community clean ups, wilderness excursions and more.
