Education Requirements

• BA in Math Education or equivalent
• Valid MN teaching license in Mathematics

Description:

Harbor City International School is a small, public charter school serving grades 9-12 in Duluth, MN. The purpose of this position is to engage students in math learning to meet and exceed state standards in an inclusive, small setting focused on academic challenge and community engagement.

Responsibilities include:

• Content development and delivery for math courses which may include:Algebra Fundamentals, Intermediate Algebra,Geometry, Algebra 2, Computer Coding, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus.
• Create a safe and inclusive environment for all students to engage in classroom and school activities
• Provide effective assessment and feedback to promote strong math skills, understandings, and application
• Provide timely feedback to students and families
• Make decisions informed by a variety of assessment tools and data for math instruction
• Differentiate learning experiences for all students and work with special education staff to provide student accommodations
• Communicate with students, families, and colleagues effectively
• Oversee an advisory period
• Teach 3 Symposium classes- short, special interest classes in January, May, and June
• Additional opportunities: club advisement, student travel, school leadership and development committees
